Actually not a vs question, I was wondering if a student who receives certificate of completion instead of a reg. diploma, could then take the GED or something and get the reg. diploma that way? Would it make a difference? I don’t think it will come up for my son but I wondered anyway. Thanks y’all.
Re: certificate of completion vs reg.diploma
If he gets a certificate of completion, he’ll either have to get a GED or go on welfare. You can’t even get a job with a certificate of completion, let alone get any further training in any kind of school.

Re: certificate of completion vs reg.diploma
My school district also offers the Occupational Diploma as an alternative for special ed students. This diploma is tied to vocational programs and involves a coop work experience. The students earn credits and create a portfolio of work experience. It is a good alternative for many students.
